        the Memory Garden Brick
        Order Form.

Each of you know how blessed we have been by the new school addition. It was much needed and has provided not only classroom space for our growth but a state of the art computer lab and a spacious enhanced library. For these things we are grateful and look forward to providing an enriched education in a God centered environment for years to come. Countless students have passed thru the classrooms of Good Shepherd School since 1960 and our desire is to serve countless more in the years to come.

It is for this reason I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about a very special project Jesus the Good Shepherd School is about to undertake. As a way of creating a lasting impression of all the students and families that have been a part of our school, we are beginning a commemorative brick project that will be the foundation for Jesus The Good Shepherd School Memory Garden. This garden will become part of the entryway to the new school extension and provide a space where students, young and old, past and present, can remember their “school days” and the family members they shared their school experiences with. It is our desire that all our families - past and present – be remembered with an engraved brick. Our garden will initially provide space for 3000 4X8 engraved bricks with options for 8X8 bricks as well. Purchasing a commemorative brick for placement in the garden will not only build the place where all our students and their families can be remembered, but will also provide funding that will be used to eliminate the debt associated with the expansion and secure funds for maintaining and enhancing our school in the future. A 4X8 brick can be ordered for $200 and an 8X8 brick for $350. Selling all 3000 bricks as 4X8 would generate $600,000 – more than enough to extinguish the debt while leaving the balance to begin a school endowment fund. Your brick will become part of the memory our garden is celebrating and the purchase price of your brick will contribute to much needed funding at Jesus the Good Shepherd School. This funding will support our mission of providing an education of the highest quality in an environment that promotes God’s love while enforcing values that positively shape young lives forever.

We encourage our grandparents, alumni and our current students to take this opportunity to become a part of the lasting impression our garden will make. The official “kick off” for the project will be October 16, 2009 at our Grandparents’ Day celebration and our goal is to have the garden complete by Grandparents’ Day in October of 2010. The celebration for that year will include special festivities with the dedication and special blessing of The Memory Garden. Please consider the importance of your participation. The purchase of your commemorative brick will build our memory garden today and continue to support the making of memories at Jesus the Good Shepherd School far into the future.

Yours in Christ,
Lisa Patrick, Principal
