Catholic Schools Week went great! Our Catholic School Week Celebration is centered around the theme of “Catholic Schools: Light the Way.” Kathy Hewitt, religion coordinator, planned many activities for our JGS students. The students enjoyed Catholic Bingo and Thursday had a pajama and movie day. Mrs. Hewitt has also planned an afternoon of Catholic School Week Jeopardy. Our week ended with our liturgy on Friday with Our Lady of Fatima and St. Frederick.

It's hard to believe that it has almost been four years since we completed our new addition to JGS. We are so happy with the new facility. The students and teachers have taken wonderful care of the new building. It should serve us well in years to come. I would like to thank all who contributed to this worthwhile cause. Our dreams finally became a reality because of many generous donations within our school community as well as our community at large. Our five year capital campaign is nearly complete. If you have outstanding pledges or if you would like to contribute to our building campaign, please call the school office for more information. Any contribution to a 501© (3) organization is deductible for tax purposes.

It is time to register for the 2008-2009 school year. Registration for those students presently enrolled will be February 11 th - February 22 nd . Those students who will be at St. Frederick next year will have registration packets delivered to JGS. The packets will be sent home with JGS students February 11 th . Parents should fill out packets and return to St. Frederick or JGS by February 22 nd . Registration will open for new students wishing to enroll at JGS on February 25 th .

Basketball season has ended for 2007-2008. Many thanks to Michael Dickerson, Athletic Director, and Lauri Imbriani, Concession Director, for countless hours during the season. The students and coaches seemed to enjoy the season this year. I truly appreciate all of our parents who volunteered as coaches. The work in the concession stand and the gate would not be possible without our devoted parents….Thanks a million! As basketball season ends please return all basketball uniforms to the school office as soon as possible.
