In 1960, our school opened with enrollment from grades Kindergarten through grade six. Grades seven and eight were later additions. The Daughters of the Cross were the teaching Sisters who staffed Jesus the Good Shepherd School for forty years. The school services Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, Catholics of other parishes, and families of other denominations who accept our philosophy and mission. Our role, as an extension of the parental responsibility to teach, is to give our students the best intellectual, spiritual, physical and social environment. Our academic excellence is rooted in Christian principles as revealed by God through the Catholic Church. In August of 2002, seventh and eighth grade classes moved to St. Frederick High School for a new Junior High program. The addition of PreKindergarten 4 in 2003, and PreKindergarten 3, in 2004, along with the JGS Daycare Program in 2019 completed our elementary school campus.
